Reaching for the Wisconsin Idea
Reaching for the Wisconsin Idea
A Student Organization Outreach Symposium
Friday, March 16
Varsity Hall, Union South
The Wisconsin Idea is the principle that the university should improve people’s lives beyond the classroom. It is one of the guiding principles of UW-Madison’s teaching, research, and public service activities. Some of the people on campus most active with the Wisconsin Idea are our student organizations. Because this is the year of the Wisconsin Idea, we thought it would be a great time to begin an annual symposium about student organizations that embody this philosophy. Come join us for a morning of discussion, collaboration, sharing, and networking with student orgs involved in outreach activities! Our keynote speaker will be Gwen Drury, author of 'The Wisconsin Idea: The Vision that Made Wisconsin Famous'. She will be discussing the role that students have played in the creation and implementation of the Wisconsin Idea.
