Sharing Documents and Other Files

All uploaded files must belong to a page, story, event, blog, etc.  Here's a quick step by step on creating a page to hold a file you want to upload, this will be only slightly different for different content types (there will be different things to fill out for an event, blog, etc.  This is just to give you an idea)

Note : Your options will vary depending on your user priviledges and the content type you are posting

  • Create a new Page from (left panel): Publish>Create Content>Page
  • Fill out the appropriate information for your page, whether its just a description of the file attached or more
  • Make sure to review and select the appropriate setting for your page (audience for example)
  • Then open the WebFM Attachments Panel, navigate (using its left
hand column) to the appropriate directory (you may have to click on the
plus sign by "project" then select either domestic or rwanda in your
case) and open the directory but left clicking on it.
  • Open the File Upload panel within the WebFM Attachments panel
and click browse, find the file you wish to upload and click open, then
    click upload.
  • The file should appear within the directory you
selected, if it id not in the right place, you can use drag and drop to
move it to where you need it to be (this works for me in FireFox)
  • Finally, right click on the file in the browser and select attach
to node (If you do not see attach to node you may have to first choose
Add to database, then choose attach to node) - You are now done
uploading and attaching the file you want

  • Subscribe to your page if you want to get notified when people post comments about it
  • Submit your page (or preview if you like)

Your file will appear on the page as below
