There will be concrete mixing workshop on Sunday May 4th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (location TBA).

Concrete is the most widely used building material
in the world, learn how to it is mixed in developing countries.  There
will be a short presentation on what makes up concrete, how it works in
structures, and how to make it stronger (approx 15 min).  Then the rest
of the workshop will be a demonstration of concrete mixing and placing
(participation required!).  An elevated concrete slab (which could be
used as a roof or floor) will be poured, along with a thin-shell arch
roof.  The arch roof will be an experiment using latex-concrete, which
is not yet widely used.

Wear work clothes, as this will be VERY MESSY, and bring a shovel if you have one.
